Remover Spyware – Ad Aware – Free Spyware & Adware Removal
Ad Aware is a free business class solution created by Lava Soft, a Swedish based software company. Ad Aware is one of the oldest and best founded anti-spyware and anti-malware companies around. Lava Soft has been in business with Ad Aware for over ten years! The software has undergone many revisions and additions over the years and yet, the basic version is still free. You can choose between the basic anti adware program (free), or you may choose one of the more comprehensive packages called Ad-Aware Pro and Ad-Aware Plus, they are priced $26.95 and $39.95 respectively. For the sake of free spyware removers, I am testing the free version.
The free version of Ad-Aware is packaged in a tidy 58MB file. Remover Spyware. It installed quickly and then updated. I started the program after loading my computer up with various bits of malware and spyware. Ad-Aware Free is a very good program for what it is. I had no troubles with it picking up and getting rid of my various infections. It quickly found all five of my spyware selections! With the software running, I began testing its live protection, I started surfing to known spyware sites (look for sites with lots of Google Ad-words) and low-and-behold Ad-aware came to life.
Ad Aware’s interface is pretty blue (literally). The functions are provided on the left and you may select among them. One thing that helps to set Ad Aware apart from its competition is that you can select and install various add-ons into the program. Two prominent add-ons for Ad Aware are hex dump and LSP Explorer. The function of hex dump is when you find something interesting (spyware for instance) you can use the hex dump add-on to get a good look at it. The other add-on is called LSP Explorer. The functionality of LSP Explorer can be summarized as saying LSP means “Layered Service Provider”, LSPs are small pieces of software whose task it is, is to intercept internet traffic, whether legitimate or illegitimate and check it for both malware and spyware. Ad Aware’s main program window features windows telling you how many infections you have had, how many objects have been recognized and destroyed. It also lets you know when it finds something requiring your immediate attention, Ad Aware refer to these as “critical objects”.
You will almost certainly be happy to know that Ad Aware has a very comprehensive scanning engine and a real time Ad Watch function. Remover spyware. They both work very well as Ad Aware picked up most of my infections. I have realized that when I test free software, my expectations drop, but Ad Aware did not disappoint. Again, Ad Aware is free, in my tests it picked up almost all of my infections, save for some really new ones which there wasn’t much information about anyways. I suspect that tomorrow, when I update my definitions again, the infections I knowingly added will be destroyed. I do recommend Ad Aware to my clients and now I recommend it to you.
