Remover Spyware – Malwarebytes AntiMalware – Free Malware Remover

Well, I have saved the best for last. In terms of genius naming of software titles pertaining to its actual function, I think that Malwarebytes AntiMalware has to take the cake. What part of having a malware infection doesn’t suck? Malwarebytes have described their software as being easy to use, effective and cheap. I have to admit that as I loaded up an armada of viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers, spyware, and malware, I was a touch skeptical. Well, I figured I’d give this program the all out since it is the most intriguing name yet! So, come, let’s take a “byte” out of malware.

True to their claims, Malwarebytes Antimalware’s interface is truly nice. Each option is clearly explained and the interface is simple to use. The default page opens up to the scanning function, which is nice because that’s usually why I open an application of this nature – to take care of a problem. The scanning function lists two options, a full scan or a partial scan. As the name implies the full scan will scan every file and every area on your computer, the partial scan, also as its name implies scans smaller but more commonly infected areas of the computer, for example the master boot record, BIOS, and the load up files for Windows.

Now, before I get too far, I should mention that this review is being carried out with their free spyware removal tool. They do offer a paid version, but I’m a poor consultant. In case you’re wondering, the premium version is $24.95 and expands the function of the free version to the scheduled functions – updating and scanning, and also unlocks real time protection.

I performed a full scan of the system and watched the results box fill up with all these annoying programs I had flooded my hard drive with. It was actually a little entertaining watching the results scroll by. A nice point I should let you know is that the scanning is quick and very effective. Once the scanning was done it asked me what I wished to do with the now quarantined files. I deleted them, of course. I then went to check how cleanly they had been expunged. The good news is that all the files, processes, and registry entries were gone. The bad news was that I still had one cookie left over, oh well, I deleted it myself. I was quite happy with the function of the free version overall.

From its organized interface and intuitive functions and options, Malwarebytes AntiMalware is working hard to take a “byte” out of malware!
